How to Navigate Academia: Insights from Early Career Researchers

This session will present tips for making a successful transition to an academic career post PhD and navigating the world of academia as early career researchers.
Dr Rebecca Downes is a Lecturer in Management at Victoria University of Wellington. While completing her PhD in early 2020, she discovered a love for research and teaching that ultimately led to an academic career. Rebecca’s research interests include ethics, stakeholder theory, and the role of technology, such as artificial intelligence, in organisations.
Dr Xi Wen (Carys) Chan is a Research Fellow and an incoming Senior Lecturer in Human Resources and Organisational Behaviour at Griffith University. Carys has an outstanding publishing record in not only the leading academic journals but also several media publications. Her research has been recognised at various forums, including ANZAM, European Management Journal, and Emerald Literati Awards.
