Journal of Service Theory and Practice’s upcoming special issue titled 

“New Perspectives on Luxury Services: Rethinking Meanings, Practices, and Futures.”

This special issue seeks to critically examine the shifting meanings, practices, and futures of luxury services in an era of environmental crisis, digital transformation, and evolving workforce values. We invite contributions that interrogate luxury as a dynamic and contested space, balancing indulgence and responsibility, exclusivity and accessibility, human craft and technological innovation.

We particularly welcome conceptual and empirical papers that address topics such as regenerative and transformative luxury, sustainable and quiet luxury paradigms, AI and automation in service design, the emotional and aesthetic labour of luxury work, and global or cross-cultural perspectives on exclusivity and access.
