Applying fuzzy-set Qualitative Comparative Analysis to integrate qualitative and quantitative data
Featuring: Dr Farveh Farivar, University of Tasmania
Fuzzy Set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA) effectively integrates qualitative and quantitative data in organisational research. By combining the strengths of textual and numeric data, fsQCA allows researchers to analyse complex relationships and uncover causal patterns systematically and rigorously. It acknowledges the importance of qualitative information by representing it as fuzzy sets, providing a nuanced understanding of organisational phenomena. Through set-theoretic analysis and Boolean algebra, fsQCA identifies necessary and sufficient conditions that contribute to a desired outcome, offering valuable insights for decision-making and policy development.
