Theme: Designing Sustainable and Resilient Supply Chains in an Era of Rich Data
The 17th ANZAM Operations, Supply Chain and Services Management Symposium will be hosted by The Department of Management and Marketing at The University of Melbourne. The Symposium theme for 2019 is Designing Sustainable and Resilient Supply Chains in an Era of Rich Data. Because of the globalised, extended, and complex nature of supply chains nowadays, organisations become more dependent on their supply chain partners and therefore expose to a wide variety of unexpected risk events, ranging from product recalls, supply chain fraud and counterfeiting, data insecurity, to modern slavery. All these events would have significant negative impact on the organisations’ sustainability.
Thanks to the richness of primary and secondary data, there is a growing interest from both academia and industry in applying big data analytics and empirical approaches using secondary data to help organisations design and manage sustainable and resilient supply chains in a proactive manner. In order to facilitate knowledge sharing and bridge building between theory and practice, the Symposium aims to provide a platform for academics, research students, and practitioners to share novel and practical data-driven analytical and empirical approaches for sustainable and resilient supply chain management.
