Dear Colleagues

It is my pleasure to invite you to attend the 16th Asia Pacific Symposium on Emotions in the Workplace (APSEW), which will take place at Griffith University’s Gold Coast campus on Thursday, 8th December from 9:00-5:00pm and online.  The Symposium is scheduled to take place immediately after ANZAM (6th-7th December) at the same location. The location is G42_2.11 Griffith Business School.  This year’s conference is a Hybrid event.  If you are unable to be present in person, let us know, and we will send you a Zoom link before the start of the Symposium so you can attend online.

APSEW is a meeting of scholars interested in the study of emotions in work settings and brings together postgraduate students, academics, and practitioners. The Symposium is being sponsored this year by the Department of Employment Relations and Human Resources (ERHR) and the Centre for Work, Organisation and Wellbeing (WOW) at Griffith University, the UQ Business School, and ANZAM2022.

The keynote speaker will be Neal Ashkanasy, Professor of Management at the UQ Business School. Prof Ashkanasy studies emotion in organizations, leadership, culture, ethical and sustainable behaviour, and the physical environment of work. He is the founder of the Emonet Listserv and the APSEW Conference Series. He is also co-editor of the book series, Research on Emotion in Organizations. He has published in journals such as the Academy of Management Journal and Review, the Journal of Management, and the Journal of Applied Psychology. He served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Organizational Behavior, Associate Editor for the Academy of Management Review and Academy of Management Learning & Education.
